Privacy Policy for Text Automator

Last Updated: February 17, 2026

Overview

Text Automator is an SMS automation application for Android developed by CodePixel Labs LLC. The app allows you to schedule recurring text messages, automatically reply to incoming messages, automatically forward incoming messages, and send group messages. This privacy policy explains how the app collects, uses, and protects your data.

App Features

Text Automator provides the following core features, each of which involves specific data handling described in this policy:

Data Collection and Storage

What We Store Locally on Your Device

All of the following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers:

What We Do NOT Collect

Incoming SMS Processing

When the Auto-Reply or Auto-Forward features are enabled, the app processes incoming SMS messages to determine whether they match your configured rules. This is how these features work:

Crash Reporting

Text Automator uses Sentry, a third-party error reporting service, to collect crash reports and error logs. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Crash reports may include:

Crash reports do not include your contacts, phone numbers, message content, or other personal data. For more information on how Sentry handles data, see Sentry's Privacy Policy.

Permissions

SMS Permissions (SEND_SMS, READ_SMS, RECEIVE_SMS)

Text Automator requires permission to send SMS messages. This permission is used to send scheduled text messages, auto-replies, auto-forwarded messages, and group messages on your behalf. The app also requires permission to receive and read incoming SMS messages in order to power the Auto-Reply and Auto-Forward features. The app will never send a message without your explicit instruction through creating a scheduled message, auto-reply rule, auto-forward rule, or group message.

Contacts Permission (READ_CONTACTS)

This permission is used when you select a recipient from your contacts and when the app looks up contact names for display purposes (for example, to show a sender's name in the Auto-Reply or Auto-Forward inbox, or to substitute a contact's name into a message template). The app does not scan, upload, or store your full contact list.

Notification Access

As an optional fallback, the app can use Android's Notification Listener service to detect incoming SMS messages by reading notifications from your default messaging app. This is only used when the standard SMS broadcast receiver is unavailable. You must explicitly grant this permission in your device's Settings. Notification content is processed on-device only and is not transmitted externally.
